Several years ago, I was introduced to the magic of altering images taken with an out-of-production SX-70 Polaroid camera. I was immediately hooked with the process and purchased a camera at a flea market. The older camera's film emulsion develops slowly, which allows me the opportunity to alter the image with a tool, such as a small knitting needle or a fork tine. The finished product gives the image an impressionistic feel -- it looks like a painting. The Polaroid images you see here are photographs manipulated by hand, not by the computer. Some of the images are further altered with colored pencils. Many of these images are sold by galleries both locally and throughout the United States.
